Uploading this post a little late. Last time I blogged on this and my firefox crashed.
Well it is now 8th semester. Few days left for our one of the phase to end. On such a occassion my class thought of going for picnic to Mahableshwar. First time in four years we had such a trip for refreshing ourselves from test, assignments, practicals, project and other diarnal activities. We started with a night journey. Everyone gathered at 3 diffrent pickup points. It was accompanied with lot of josh, songs and then a sound sleep with shrinked body in the moving bus. Next day early morning we reached cold mahablehwar. It was really freezy out there. Drifting on the quiet roads we found our hotel. Since we had our bookings done from mumbai we got our 9 rooms. So 36 people divided in 9 room.
After getting the rooms we just dumped our bags and set the deck up, and let the music play. It was time to move our body. It was rang-panchami that day in mahableshwar so we decided to go to panchgani.
Panchgani is the land of flat table tops. There are five mountains which are so flat that we can actually have a football field set up. The cave restaurant, paragliding and horse riding were main attractions of this place. I was in double mind for paragliding. But when I decided to go for it wind did not allow me. I was rejected because I was heavy and wouldn't fly with that low breeze. Any ways the ride was too small i wouldn't have enjoyed it. Instead I took a ride on horse and came back. It was afternoon when we reached back to mahableshwar everyone was playing with colors. It was "Dhulivandan" (if I am not mistaken). They were asking for money to trespass without getting those colors on. Niket shelled out and we were in the hotel safely. This was followed by heavy lunch and then sound sleep till evening. Evening we went to sunset point, though we reached there after sunset. But our practice of going offroad was fun. Everyone went offroad hiking in the dark. There were nearly 30 of us and we had nearly 5-6 tourches. In the moon light we were drifting aimlessly. Again a new experience to get.
In the night we set up a speaker and deck. Hotel manager gave us some space outside their lobby and everyone was dancing to the tune of all kind of music. Inspite of tiring day everyone's spirits were high for moving their body. After dancing we went to have the fresh strawberry with cream and icecream at bagiccha.
Next morning we were suppose to move out early and then come back right in the evening. We had heavy breakfast and with some delay left the place. This day we spent visiting various points. These points made us discover the beauty of nature. We also discovered some ofroad routes which were indeed dangerous and risky. But frankly speaking the danger and fun is directly proportional. In the evening after this we went to the lake side. Go-karting and boating. I had never rowed a boat. First I thought it will be difficult rowing a boat since will require lot of strenth. But rowing was fun. Go-karting we had a usual race with banging into each other. Didn't do any stunts this time but just was riding it.
Finally the last night had come. Next morning we had to leave. Dumb-sherad and a walk in the lonely streets of mahablehwar markets were only 2 activities were done in the night. There was a once more to lake side. We went there again in the morning to enjoy rowing the boat. This time we were pirates. Attacking everyone's boat. Only baba's ship was spared. The rest we strategically attacked.
Strawberries, Syrups, Jam and other stuff was left to buy. We went again to the market just bought some stuff and left for mumbai again. I had nothing after breakfast my battery was low. Charging was needed. Had a halt at Visawa in mahad. Then the journey was fun. One of my friend Reef, suggested to make limirics. It was nothing but making four-five lines of poem on each and everyone in the bus. Entire journey kept us busy and entertaining in this. We entered mumbai and the departure and splitting of everyone started. According to the destination everyone started getting down. There was a moment when we all thought of taking a U-turn and going back somewhere. But the time has to go on and enjoyment has to curtailed. And thus another good span of time had come to an end.
It was one of our best trip we ever had. There were no teachers to assists. Everyone of same age. But had excellent co-ordination with each and everyone.
